                                      THE DIFFICULT JOURNEY IN THE WORLD

Most of the world creatures are experiencing migration due to the various reasons. The animals, birds, fish and even human being have their own migration. But the very astonishing migration is that found in a species of fish called salmon. The journey of these fishes is very amazing since it faced with a lot osf obstacles and it need long preparation yet it is very normal for salmon to accomplish this difficult journey. This journey can take several kilometers, and a lot of energy   used.

Salmon are found in the rivers of western shores of America. There are many types of species among salmon such as pink salmon, chum salmon king salmon and Atlantic salmon.
 Salmon journey is something that programmed natural through salmon life cycle. The migration of salmon start from summer or autumn it depend on the type of species among salmon. This astonishing journey starts when salmon deposit its eggs at the end of summer or autumn season. When a young salmon hatched they spend few weeks or days in the river. Soon after grow up they can start this migration to the ocean. Where they spend most of their life. Salmon can live both in fresh water and salt water.

On their way to the ocean they meet a lot of obstacles include predator. Here a lot of physiological changes taking place in their bodies so as to enable them to live in the ocean water as normal as other fishes. Here in the ocean they spend most of their life but when the time of laying eggs come they return back to the river where they born to hatch their eggs. In this journey many difficulties face them yet they must reach their destination. 

Salmon before they reach to their destination they undergoing a roughly journey which approximately may reached from 16,000Km to 25,000km. Furthermore withought the use of compass direction they can accomplish their difficult journey after long distance and reach back to the mouth of the river where they born. On their way back to the river many things happens. For example:-

1. Some physiological taking place to ensure that they can live in river water.  It must be remembered that salmon at first place born in river and migrated to the ocean where they spend most of their time. Now they return back to the river where a river has fresh water. Here some physiological changing’s must be adopted to enable them to breath in the river

2. This journey it is against river water flow. Since salmon is coming from ocean and going to the river now this journey in opposite direction to the river’s stream. Here the difficult journey in starting. A lot of energy is needed to enable salmon to go against river stream.

3. In this journey salmon is forced to jump when reach to the water fall. It is confirmed that a salmon can jump over 3 meters (9 ft). Here a lot of energy also needed. Come to think of this here a salmon is jumping to the water fall first it against the falling of water this may be more difficult because she can be taken by water when reach upper the waterfall. Second it needs determination, courage and patience and a lot or trial can be done until salmon passes to overcome this obstacle.

4. Sometimes salmon pass through shallow water where she can swim and crawl in i.5 inch depth. In this situation it is very difficult to overcome predators like birds an example is eagles. The sun radiation and hot water can be experienced in shallow water depth. Thanks to the patience and great courage a salmon can overcome all these obstacles and reach to the destination.

At the end salmon is reaching to the river where she born and there laying its eggs to accomplish a life cycle which can start again after few days or weeks when the new young salmon are born. Come to think about this difficult journey how salmon can know where she born after spending a lot of time in the ocean. How can she accomplish this difficult journey with ought the aid of compass direction.

Thanks to the scientific experiment conducted in America, the experiment proves that salmon has ability to remember scent of water and differentiate each water by scent. The scent can be stored in her memory even after three years. Also scientist argues that the journey of salmon is genetically programmed, thus why she can travel long journey without need the help of compass direction.

 Conclusion

The life of salmon is giving us many lessons. For example before starting this migration salmon store most of energy which can be used in this difficult journey. This gives us the reflection that we must be prepared before taking an action. In addition the struggle of salmon to overcome obstacles tells us that we must be patience and courageous in our action. Thanks to the salmon we learn a lot of lesson and many scientific experiments conducted so as to know more about their life.
